What about the people that tend to get sick more often throughout the year? Well everyone’s body is different and there are certain things that you could be immuned to that others aren’t and that’s what can make some people get sick more than others. Nonetheless, if you are worried that you may be getting sick a little more often than you think you should, you may want to work on your immune system. A good immune system will help fight against any sickness, disease or virus that tries to infect the body. This is not to say that your immune system is bad, but it doesn’t hurt to make an effort to improve it. What can you do to boost your immune system? Here are 7 different actions you can take to achieve a healthier immune system.

Believe it or not sex can actually contribute to a healthier immune system. It not only makes you feel good, but a study found that those who had sex more often had a higher level of cold-fighting substances in their bodies. So don’t hesitate to get your groove on tonight.

2) Get more sleep

Sleep deprivation can cause you to develop an unhealthy immune system. According to Everydayhealth.com, lack of sleep can increase the cortisol hormone, which suppresses the immune system’s functions.

3)  Dog’s Can Help

The saying “man’s best friend” is definitely not an understatement. Adopting a furry friend can actually be a fun and natural immune booster. Dog’s can even help your child’s immune system, by making them less likely to develop allergies.

4) No Smoking Allowed

If you want a healthy immune system you should most definitely stay away from tobacco smoke. Smoking will undermine the basic defenses of the immune system and put you at risk for bronchitis and pneumonia.

6) Eat Your Fruits And Vegetables

When your mom told you to eat your fruits and vegetables as a child, it pretty much went in one ear and out the other. However, nutrients actually play a big part in improving your immune system. One study found that older adults who ate the sufficient amount of fruits and vegetables, showed improvement in their response to the Pneumovax vaccine, which protects the body against Streptococcus pneumonia.

7) Get Up And Move

Exercise is a number one immune system booster. Just by doing something as simple as a morning walk once a day can help you improve your immune system immensely.
